Prisoner of Conscience
They took me as a prisoner, for worshipping my Lord.
They told me to deny Christ, to say He was a fraud.
But I know my Christian duty, is to love and serve my God.
To care for all His people, to tread the path He trod.
Jesus preached of just redemption, for our sins was sacrificed.
But those who do revile Him, propound hatred of Jesus Christ.
I languish here not knowing, if I’m to live or die.
They torture and torment me, the world has passed me by.
Pray give me Lord Your answer, just how will this end?
But Jesus made a promise, this message He does send.
“Be good to those who hate you, when you’re one of Mine.
For first they hated Me, but you have done no crime.
Stand firm in faith My child, as for you the Christian prays.
I love you forever, I am with you all your days.” Cjs.

Wax Poetical website is a collection of Christian musings on the problems of today
With colleagues and friends alongside, their struggles victory wrought.
Freedom for us to make choices is there since sacrifice vast
for all are completely dependant, on the actions from years that have passed.
So many risked of their lives, but some were not to return,
Gratitude for such loyal service, in our hearts always must burn.
No matter how distant the conflict, forever we’re all in their debt,
and the hardships they were to encounter, we must never ever forget.
The Allies in working together, saved thousands of people their lives
and in the annals of history, recording of their bravery survives.
None can know what they went through or what nightmares all have endured.
Appreciation for their sacrifice, forever is completely assured.
So just why did they do it, for the glory, honour or praise...
or to save people from torment, giving all happier days.
Or a far greater incentive, that all the world would be free?
For the wages paid by their Countries? NO..... they did it for me!

St Thérèse of Lisieux
(The Little Flower)Her Little Way**
and is it really relevant, to how we live today?
“Unless you change and be like a little child,
Heaven won’t be your home, the notion is just wild.”
Love is what a child, will show towards its mother.
An aching does exist, if they only have another.
For the mother if that love, is simply not returned
then heartache will ensue, she will surely then feel spurned.
A Spiritual essential, is be an infant in Christ’s arms,
completely trust and love Him, be not anxious nor have qualms.
“We are to love, because He loved us first!” (1. Jn 4.19)
So for the love of God, we do need to thirst.
*****************
The Blessed Sacrament embodies Christ’s devotion.
St Thérèse believed in this, with overwhelming deep emotion.
True humility is a virtue, it makes us realise
that on God we are dependent, for every aspect of our lives.
The soul that is most humble, is with love more full than most
for so empty of itself, it has no pride to boast.
Have confidence in Christ, for He truly truly cares.
Love the Father and our neighbour; remember all in prayers.
Put selfish thoughts aside, work for God’s pleasure alone.
This is the journey to Christ, the way to our eternal home!
Let love shine through all torment, take pain to the Father’s embrace.
His empathy, care and understanding, is there for whatever we face.

St Thérèse of Lisieux died a lingering and painful death of tuberculosis in her French convent in the Normandy town of Lisieux in 1897 at only 24yrs of age.
“The Message of St Thérèse of Lisieux”** sets out what Thérèse called her Little Way
and powerfully reveals the relevance of the Gospel to everyday living.

Sayonara Soldier
Sadness overtakes me, when another soldier dies.
For protecting of the innocent, tears stream from their families’ eyes.
How long should we allow, terror to take the lead
democracy be denied, cruel practices to proceed?
Surely there comes a time, when good people must intervene,
murder and torture to stop, freedom reality .....not a dream.
Surely Christ would say, help the weak and frail,
defend these from all harm, or in caring we do fail?
How to achieve this Lord, without the use of force?
The bullies must be stopped, to what ends must we recourse?
Sometimes there is no option, and death it will ensue.
So I pray for all those suffering, and I ask this now of you
for dear friends from each of us, the Lord our love demands,
and our duty in this life, is to obey all He commands. Cjs.
